Dr. Ski, the president of Harrisburg Area Community College, is embarking on his final bike campaign before retirement to raise scholarship funds for students in need.
Just last week, Dr. Ski started his journey biking through each HACC campus across the Susquehanna Valley, including York, Lebanon, and Harrisburg, to support students facing financial hardships.
Along the ride, Dr. Ski is prioritizing meeting donors, building relationships, and awarding students with scholarships that help cover tuition.
These efforts are opening doors for students, and Dr. Ski said the impact is already being felt.
“It has allowed people who and afforded people an opportunity to attend higher education. I like to say that we are the on-ramp to higher education. And so by providing these scholarship funds, they’re able to be given to individuals who otherwise might not be able to experience a higher-ed opportunity and see where it takes them in their career,” Dr. Ski said.
Today is his last day biking to raise money, but donations are still welcome to help students in need.
