MENDOCINO CO., 6/17/25 – The Community Foundation of Mendocino County awarded its highest number of scholarships ever to over 150 high schoolers earlier this month.
The foundation said, over 1,000 applications were submitted by students hoping to be the recipients of over $500,000 total in scholarships.

According to the foundation, scholarship awards ranged from $1,000 to $20,000, with an average amount of $3,000.
The foundation manages scholarship programs for myriad local donors that want to support students in certain communities, or whot want to pursue specific careers fields. Some donors want to fund first-generation college students, or perhaps those who come from specific cultural backgrounds.
“While the criteria and preferences for these scholarships vary, they all share a common goal: to foster hope and positively impact the next generation,” the foundation said.
