Alpena, Mich. – The Community Foundation for Northeast Michigan (CFNEM) has announced the start of its 2025 competitive scholarship season. High school graduates, as well as homeschooled graduates, from Alcona, Alpena, Montmorency, and Presque Isle counties are invited to apply for the wide variety of scholarships available.
CFNEM offers scholarships based on criteria such as the student’s high school, year of graduation, the college they plan to attend, or their intended field of study. These opportunities are open to current high school students, graduates, non-traditional students, and those planning to attend trade schools or certificate programs. Applications must be submitted by March 1, 2025.
“Scholarships are designed to cater to a broad range of students,” said Jennifer Dingman, Program Director. “Whether you’re a recent graduate, a non-traditional student, or planning to attend a trade school, there is likely a scholarship for you.”
Applicants can submit their applications through CFNEM’s online platform, which ensures that each student is considered for all scholarships for which they are eligible with a single application.
Additionally, CFNEM’s affiliate foundations, including the Iosco County Community Foundation, North Central Michigan Community Foundation, and Straits Area Community Foundation, offer scholarships for students from Cheboygan, Crawford, Ogemaw, Oscoda, and Iosco counties. Details for these can be found on the respective affiliate websites.
Scholarships awarded through this program are for the 2025-26 academic year and are paid directly to the educational institutions chosen by the recipients.
CFNEM is dedicated to providing support to the community through permanently endowed funds and scholarships, helping students and local nonprofits. For more information or to apply, visit the CFNEM website at cfnem.org.
