The Community Foundation for Northern Virginia (CFNOVA) has recognized over 100 students with over $350,000 in scholarships for the 2025-2026 school year. Most of the student recipients hail from across Northern Virginia and are preparing for their next chapters—some heading as far as Florida or Massachusetts. These scholarship awards empower students to pursue higher education by easing the financial burden and reducing stress for both them and their families.
The Community Foundation is positioned to support these students through 35 Community Foundation scholarship funds, many of which are endowed to leave a lasting difference for future generations of
students. Individual scholarship awards range from $1,200 to $5,000 for students interested in a specific field of study at the undergraduate level or with specific interests. The Community Foundation engages dozens of dedicated volunteers to thoughtfully review scholarship applications for its managed funds, while also collaborating with school administrators and donor partners who oversee their own selection processes—ensuring transparency, fairness, and integrity every step of the way.
The following students from Prince William County high schools have received scholarships:
The Community Foundation for Northern Virginia is building a region that works for everyone by advancing equity through philanthropy and community leadership. Since 1978, we have united thousands of generous Northern Virginians with the causes they care about through donor-advised funds, permanent funds, giving circles, and charitable endowments. We cultivate enduring partnerships with nonprofits, foundations, government, businesses, and community members, maximizing impact to drive meaningful change. Through Insight Region®, our original research initiative, we deliver data-driven insights that reveal the trends and issues shaping Northern Virginia’s future.
