The Community Foundation of Lorain County recently announced the recipients of its 2025 scholarship awards, celebrating the achievements of students across the county, according to a news release.
This year, 260 total scholarships were awarded totaling nearly $610,000, the release said.
Since program inception, the Community Foundation has allocated $9 million impacting 3,000 students across Lorain County.
Thirty-five of this year’s recipients were recognized at the Community Foundation annual meeting June 18 at Lorain County JVS in Oberlin.
These scholarships, made possible through the generosity of donors and 63 endowed scholarship funds, reflect Community Foundation’s commitment to investing in the future of Lorain County, according to the release.
This year’s recipients include 134 new scholarships to students. In addition, 126 students received renewal scholarships.
“We are honored to support these outstanding students as they embark on their educational journeys,” said Cynthia H. Andrews, president and CEO of Community Foundation, in the release. “Their dedication and passion exemplify the potential within our community, and we are excited to see the positive impact they will make.”
Each scholarship recipient was selected through a thorough application process and evaluated by a dedicated committee of volunteers to ensure that the awards recognize academic merit and community engagement, according to the release.
Applications for the 2026 scholarship cycle will open Jan. 1.
