The Concerned Ministers Fellowship (CMF) has recognized three distinguished former high school seniors that applied and qualified for the 2025 CMF Pearl Stallworth Scholarship. The winners are Kierra Nicole Menzies, of Beech Island; Jonathan Daniel Grainger, of Augusta; and Nygel Mathew Bright, of Graniteville.

The winners are Kierra Nicole Menzies, of Beech Island; Jonathan Daniel Grainger, of Augusta; and Nygel Mathew Bright, of Graniteville.
The Concerned Ministers Fellowship (CMF) has recognized three distinguished former high school seniors that applied and qualified for the 2025 CMF Pearl Stallworth Scholarship. They were awarded $500 each, based on a criterion of completing an application form, written essays, recommendation from a pastor and proof of enrollment to a college or university.
The winners are Kierra Nicole Menzies, of Beech Island; Jonathan Daniel Grainger, of Augusta; and Nygel Mathew Bright, of Graniteville.
Menzies attended Silver Bluff High School and completed with a 3.452 GPA.
She plans to pursue a career in the field of social work. She is a member of Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church and plans to attend USC Aiken or Aiken Technical College. Both letters of acceptance. Kierra has been an active participant in the dance ministry at her church. She has learned through her participation that it takes commitment, practice and that she can be a blessing to others.
Menzies stated in her essay that she is going to be committed by actively showing up to classes and putting in hard work that needs to be done to be successful in her future career.
Her recommendation was provided by Pastor Paul Bush of Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church.
Grainger attended Richmond County Technical Career Magnet School and completed with a 3.1 GPA. Grainger plans to pursue a career in the field of cyber security/digital design.
He is a member of Hudson Memorial CME Church and plans to attend Augusta Tech. Grainger stated that he has had the privilege of serving in various ministries, leadership positions and groups that have shaped his character, matured him as a person, reinforced his faith and prepared him for any future opportunities.
One of his leadership positions was the Media Ministry, which allowed him to combine his interest in technology. His role was to manage PowerPoint presentations during church services, transitioning between speakers, scriptures and songs, and remotely control the church cameras.
Pastor Brendolyn Boseman of Hudson Memorial CME Church provided his recommentation
Bright attended North Augusta High School and completed with a 3.8 GPA.
He plans to pursue a career in the field of criminal justice and is a member of Pine Grove Baptist Church. He plans to attend Aiken Technical College to earn his associate degree.
Bright’s long-term goal is to become a criminal lawyer. After completing his associate degree, he plans to transfer to Clemson University to earn a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice. Following that, he will attend law school and work toward earning his Juris Doctor degree.
Ultimately, he wants to open his own a law firm and provide legal services to those who might not be able to afford them. Bright stated that he is passionate about justice and want to make a positive impact in his community by standing up for people who deserve a fair chance in the legal system.
Pastor David Mathews of Pine Grove Baptist Church provided his recommendation.
