Tuesday, June 3, the Belmont Ruritan Club and the Belmont Club of Women honored the 2025 recipients of their combined scholarship programs. Because of the Belmont Center’s tri-county location, the two service organizations awarded $26K in $2K scholarships to two or more students from Louisa County HS, Spotsylvania County HS, and Orange County HS. The clubs appreciate the supportive efforts of Mr. Brice Wilson, Ms. Katie Williams, and Mr. Elliott Robinson, respectively, in identifying candidate students from the local high schools. Also attending this year’s dinner were Supervisors from Spotsylvania (Jack Lane) and Louisa (Duane Adams). Both stressed the themes of giving back by paying it forward to the next generation. Representatives from supportive local businesses, SmileLakeAnna (Dr. Michael Clark) and The Cove (Suzie Squiers) also attended.. The Belmont service organizations’ focus expands the traditional scholarship awardee circle to enable students to attend local Community Colleges and/or trade schools, a fact that was highlighted by both attending supervisors.
The Belmont Club of Women is pleased to announce their 2025 Scholarship winners. Each year the Club awards scholarships to local area high school students to help them reach their goals through higher education. This year the Club awarded a total of $14,500 in academic, continuing education and vocational scholarships. These scholarships are presented to students who have demonstrated a heart for service to their communities while maintaining superior academic achievements. Congratulations to the club’s 2025 winners: Connor Gammon (Louisa High School) – Evelyn Ross Scholarship; Katherlline Slagle (Orange County High School) – Goodwin Family Scholarship; Damion Feldman (Orange County High School) – Vocational Scholarship; Sabrina Bock (Spotyslvania High School) – Judith McKee Memorial Scholarship; Lexi Persinger (Spotsylvania High School) – Willie Woods Biscoe Scholarship; Nathan Young – Vocational Scholarship (not pictured); Brooke Wagner – Jenifer Shoemaker Scholarship for continuing education (not pictured).
