At Warren, we take great pride in celebrating our students’ accomplishments. Today, we are excited to honor this year’s scholarship winners for their dedication and for earning these prestigious scholarships. We are incredibly proud of these Bears for their hard work and achievements. Congratulations Warren High School Scholarship Winners!
AVID Seniors, Joshua Barrera and America Ramirez, have each won the prestigious Torch Scholarship from Northeastern University in Boston, MA. This full-ride scholarship is worth over $360,000 per student, and Northeastern only awards 15 of these scholarships nationwide—two of which are right here at Warren High! Congratulations to Joshua, who plans to study Computer Science, and America, who intends to pursue Pre-Medicine.

The Edison Scholars Program recognizes students who want to be makers of tomorrow — the dreamers, inventors, guardians, and pioneers — those who dare to be great. Over 700 students applied for the competitive scholarship, with only 30 recipients selected. Edison International has awarded nearly $20 million in scholarships over the last two decades to support promising students in STEM fields.
Andra Campos spent her high school years not only earning a 4.6 GPA but also founding a nonprofit organization for outdoor workers, developing an app that tracks UV exposure, writing a book, and leading an organization on campus.
Campos, who was recently accepted to USC with a Presidential Scholarship and has also received early admission to UC Berkeley, expressed gratitude for the recognition. Read more about her accolades here.
Last but not least, Melissa Canchola has made us proud by earning national academic honors from the College Board. She has been accepted to several prestigious institutions, including Wellesley College (with a $372,000 scholarship), Smith College (with a $368,000 scholarship), and Barnard College (through the Science Pathway Scholars Program). Additionally, she received early acceptance from Northwestern University and USC, as well as offers from UC San Diego, UC Irvine, UC Davis, UC Riverside, UC Merced, Cal Poly San Luis Obispo, and Cal State Long Beach. With all these fantastic options available to her, Melissa is still deciding where she will enroll in the fall. However, we know she plans to study Biology, and she continues to make us proud!
