April 07, 2025 // Franchising.com // For 25 years, Razzamataz Theatre Schools has been committed to making performing arts training accessible to children and young people, helping them develop confidence, creativity, and essential life skills. As part of our exciting brand refresh to mark this milestone anniversary, we are excited to announce the official renaming of our long-standing scholarship opportunity to Razzamataz Scholarships.
Over the years, Razzamataz has provided countless young people with the tools to develop their talents, enjoy incredible opportunities and develop confidence that will lead them to a whole host of different career paths. Many have gone on to be successful professionals in the performing arts industry, while others have used the skills they gained, such as resilience, teamwork, and communication, to thrive in school and their chosen professions.
One of our most notable success stories in the professional performing arts world is Robson Broad, who first discovered his passion for performing at Razzamataz Medway. As a winner of one of our first scholarships, Robson went on to vocational training and has since performed professionally in West End productions of Hamilton and Moulin Rouge.
Robson reflects on the impact of his scholarship: “Winning the scholarship gave me a huge boost of confidence and attending the professional opportunities that went with it gave me a little glimpse into what it would be like to be a professional performer.” He credits Razzamataz for shaping his journey, adding: “This has been a dream of mine for so long and I’m really grateful to all the people who have helped me get here. It’s a tough industry, but during my time at Razzamataz, I got to meet lots of performers through the special guest workshops, and now it is incredible that I’m in that privileged position myself.”
Robson regularly returns to Razzamataz Medway to share his expertise and inspire the next generation of young performers. Through masterclasses and workshops, he offers valuable insights into the industry, providing students with firsthand knowledge of what it takes to succeed in the world of professional theatre. He provides a real-world example of how someone can achieve through hard work and dedication, while also showcasing the importance of seizing opportunities and making the most of the incredible support that Razzamataz teachers and Principals offer.
Denise Gosney, MD and Founder of Razzamataz Theatre Schools, explains her own experience with the transformative impact of the arts: “I know firsthand how life-changing opportunities like these can be. As a child, performing arts gave me the confidence to believe in myself, and that belief shaped my entire future. Offering scholarships is something I am incredibly proud of because it means we are giving young people the same chance to grow, whether they choose a career on stage or in another field. At Razzamataz, we are not just focused on creating the next generation of performers, we are committed to creating confident futures, ensuring our students have the self-belief and resilience to pursue whatever path excites them.”
Razzamataz franchisees receive exceptional support from the Head Office to ensure they can provide young people in their local communities with fantastic opportunities, such as these scholarships, to participate in performing arts. From training and business development guidance to marketing and ongoing mentorship, franchisees are equipped with the tools they need to make a real impact. This support helps bring the Razzamataz mission to life, creating confident futures for young people through fun and supportive classes in performing arts education, offering a sense of community and a safe place for young people to explore opportunities.
