Onslow County Crime Stoppers presented scholarships to two local high school graduates during the board’s regular monthly meeting on June 12.
The Crime Stoppers scholarship is named after Jonathan Fulcher, a young Crime Stoppers board member who died in 2006 after a long battle with cancer, said Joe Yannessa, a member of the Onslow County Crime Stoppers board.
The 2025 scholarships were presented by Onslow County Crime Stoppers Chairman Donnie Worrell to White Oak High graduate Joshua Ledbeter and Jacksonville High graduate Kendall Kellum.
Ledbeter and Kellum each received a $1,000 scholarship.
Ledbeter plans to attend Appalachian State University and Kellum is headed to N.C. State University. Both plan to study criminal justice.
