Two Clayton State University students earned top honors at the Third Annual Student Scholarship Awards Competition hosted by the Association of Supply Chain Management Atlanta Chapter.
The competition drew undergraduate and graduate students from across Georgia, representing major institutions including Georgia Tech, the University of Georgia , and Georgia State.
Clayton State students secured two of the five total awards.
Rene Anderson, an MBA candidate, took first place in the graduate division, earning a $1,000 scholarship.
Royal Brown, a senior majoring in supply chain management, won third place in the undergraduate division, taking home a $250 prize.
“This gives our students confidence and shows others what I’ve known for years,” said Carin Lightner-Laws, Director of the Center for Supply Chain Management and Associate Professor of Management and Supply Chain Management. “Our students are extremely talented, driven, and innovative…and they can compete with the best and brightest students from Georgia and all over the country.”
Hosted by ASCM Atlanta, the competition aims to expose students to the dynamic and rapidly evolving field of supply chain management.
Participants submitted essays and presentations on real-world challenges and innovations in supply chains — an area that continues to be vital to global commerce and local economic development.
