Dallas Bright Futures, the scholarship initiative founded by Monty and Sarah Zubiate Bennett, has officially entered the semifinalist stage for its second annual award cycle.
Following a record number of applications, the program’s selection committee has narrowed the field to 24 outstanding Dallas ISD seniors. These semifinalists will participate in interviews scheduled to be completed by May 9.
Each candidate demonstrated exceptional academic achievement, leadership, and community involvement — key qualities the Dallas Bright Futures program seeks to reward.
“We were incredibly impressed by the caliber of applicants this year,” said Dallas Bright Futures spokesperson Molly Zepeda. “It’s inspiring to see so many students passionate about their futures and committed to making a difference.”
Monty and Sarah Bennett, who launched the scholarship in 2023, expressed their enthusiasm for this year’s applicant pool and their pride in helping empower young leaders through education.
“Sarah and I are deeply grateful for the overwhelming response this year,” said Monty Bennett. “It’s a privilege to invest in the next generation of leaders, and we can’t wait to see all that they will accomplish.”
“These students represent the very best of Dallas,” added Sarah Zubiate Bennett. “Their ambition, resilience, and heart give us hope that the future will be even brighter when we invest in education and opportunity.”
The Monty J. and Sarah Z. Bennett Dallas ISD Scholarship awards five $5,000 scholarships annually to high-achieving Dallas ISD seniors preparing to attend college. The program reflects the Bennett’s commitment to advancing educational opportunity and building a stronger future for the Dallas community.
The final scholarship recipients will be announced later this spring.
