DAVENPORT, Iowa (KWQC) – A Davenport North High School senior has been awarded a prestigious scholarship.
Cohen Callaway received the Kathryn Bell Tate Scholarship, a $20,000 scholarship that was presented by the Davenport Schools Foundation to one outstanding senior in the school district.
After graduating from Davenport North, Callaway will be heading to the University of Minnesota, where he said he plans to double major in math and computer science with the goal of becoming a professor.
“I believe academia is the right path for me,” Callaway said. “Not only can I do my own research, but I can also be a teacher and mentor for other curious minds.”
