GRAND RAPIDS, MI — Davenport University is offering scholarship opportunities for up to $8,000 to Amway employees under a new partnership between the two institutions.
The program also offers scholarship opportunities of up to $6,500 per year to the spouses and children, age 29 and under, of Amway employees, according to a release.
“We believe that lifelong learning is critical for career development and personal growth,” said Davenport University President Richard Pappas. “We are pleased to partner with Amway, a West Michigan company with a global reach, to ensure an educated and productive workforce. This partnership also provides opportunities for their employees’ family members, which provides ongoing opportunities and strengthens our communities.”
In addition to the scholarships, the partnership also includes a “20% discount on professional development certificates and certifications” through Davenport’s Institute of Professional Excellence.
The institute offers professional development courses and custom training for employers.
“At Amway, we believe our employees and their families are central to our success,” said Gretchen Payne, chief human resources officer at the Ada-based multi-level marketing company. “This partnership with Davenport University reflects our long-standing commitment to people and possibility. By working together, we can create more opportunities for learning and growth that benefit not only our employees but also the communities we call home.”
According to Davenport, the university offers “flexible programs for adult learners to earn degrees or certificates in more than 100 areas. Many courses are offered online, and Davenport offers both 7-week and 15-week semesters.”
Davenport has about 5,000 students at campuses across Michigan and online, including at its W.A. Lettinga campus in Caledonia Township south of Grand Rapids.
