Applicants will be assessed based on their involvement in school and community music activities. Evaluation categories include:
In addition to these qualifications, each applicant must submit a performance video of up to three minutes and either a written essay (350–500 words) or a narrative video (up to three minutes). These should address two key questions: “What role has music played in my life, and how will it shape and influence my future?” and “How will the scholarship assist me?” A letter of recommendation from a music teacher, coach, or mentor is required. Applicants are encouraged to submit an additional performance video that showcases different musical styles or interests.
The recipient will be announced on or around Wednesday, June 4, 2025. Full details and the application form are available at www.am-fm.org/music-performance-scholarship.
Named in memory of Tim King, a respected Annapolis musician, actor, writer, and guitar teacher, the scholarship honors his legacy by supporting young musicians pursuing formal music education.
