Des Moines Dollars for Scholars® this week announced the opening of the 2025 scholarship application window, and applications will be accepted from Jan. 1, 2025, through Mar. 31, 2025.
For more than two decades, this locally-supported scholarship foundation has been dedicated to empowering students in the Des Moines and Normandy Park, WA, communities.
Des Moines Dollars for Scholars provides a convenient way for students to apply for 10–16 scholarships through a single application.
Scholarships range from $500 to $1,000 and can be used at two-year colleges, four-year universities, and vocational or technical schools.
The program is open to high school graduates (or those with a GED) and adults continuing their education. Along with general scholarships, applicants with specific qualifications or career aspirations may receive special consideration. These include students pursuing careers in law enforcement or criminal justice, those with work experience, individuals promoting environmental education, and advocates for waste reduction, among other opportunities.
