This year’s 200 graduates of Columbus St. Francis DeSales High School earned $30.15 million in scholarships.
In the fall, 183 of them will be attending one of 39 two-year or four-year institutions of higher education. Nine will attend trade school, four are undecided, two will enter the workforce, one will be in the University of Kentucky ROTC and one will join the U.S. Marine Corps.
The members of the class of 2024 completed 8,150 service hours during the school year.
The following awards were given to members of the senior class: Father James M. Berendt Service Award, Luke Aaron and Rebecca Fekru; Bishop Herrmann Service Award, Isabella Carfagna; Alumni Award, Brandon Heil and Lily Hartman; Senior Spirit Award, Adam Ward, Anthony Zegunis, Lily Verne and Mary Tano; Campus Ministry Award, Anmarie Trolli, Rachel Schroeder, Lucy Wills, Luke Aaron, Vince Marchese and Brendan Ballard.
Earning summa cum laude honors were Luke Aaron, Ashlyn Davis, Rebecca Fekru, Isabella Felter, Brandon Heil, John Kraker, Cailin Mascarin, Kenny Ngo, Sarah Nordmoe, Vincent Potina, Olivia Sanabria, Rachael Schroeder, Maria Thomas, Joshua Wade, Madison Walker and Anthony Zegunis.
There were 29 state champion athletes – either individuals or championship team members – in the class.
