FELCH, Mich. (WLUC) – A Dickinson County Student was awarded two years of free tuition to Bay College Thursday.
North Dickinson County Schools Senior Hope Schuiteman received Bay College’s Board of Trustees Elite Scholarship.
Schuiteman has been a member of the North Dickinson School Band since the 5th grade.
She also participates and leads two extracurricular groups helping the local community.
Schuiteman says she didn’t think she would get the scholarship.
“I’m very excited, I wasn’t expecting to get it,” Schuiteman said. “It is a full ride for two years to get my associates, so I won’t have to pay any tuition or any of my books, and that will be really helpful so I can get my degree.”
This is the second year in a row a North Dickinson student was awarded the scholarship.
