Amarillo, TX – DHDC’s Summer Camps are only 4 weeks away! Campers have eight themes to choose from over the summer and can register for one week or multiple, with a three-day camp the week of July 4th. Summer Camps are meant for children aged three years old through fifth grade and will separate campers into different classrooms so they can learn on their level amongst their peers.

The Don Harrington Discovery Center is pleased to announce that scholarships are now available! With summer just around the corner, DHDC is committed to making sure every child has the chance to explore, grow, and learn this summer—regardless of financial circumstances.

If a family resides in one of the following shelters, campers are eligible for a full scholarship through a generous grant from the Women’s Philanthropy Fund to provide access to academic camps for at-risk students in our area: Martha’s Home, Family Support Services, Downtown Women’s Center, or Buckner Children and Family Services. Families currently enrolled with any of these organizations should contact their caseworker or case manager to apply for a full scholarship.
It is important to note that completing the application does not guarantee a scholarship award or the specific amount requested. All award decisions are made at the sole discretion of the Don Harrington Discovery Center.
Applications are available now on the Summer Camps page at https://discoverycentercollective.org/summer-camp-discovery-2025-2/
The Don Harrington Discovery Center encourages families in need to apply and looks forward to welcoming a new group of campers to a summer of adventure and discovery.
