CINCINNATI (Cincinnati Business Courier) – An anonymous donor has created a scholarship endowment with an initial gift of $3.2 million that will help local students pay for a Catholic high school education.
The Northern Cincinnati Foundation announced the Six Degrees of Humility Scholarship Endowment at the beginning of September. The endowment, which was created by an anonymous donor, was made with a Bitcoin donation, making it among the first Bitcoin-backed endowments at a community foundation nationwide.
“The goal is to use modern tools like cryptocurrency to advance longstanding traditions,” the donor shared through the Northern Cincinnati Foundation. “A Catholic education can be transformational, nurturing a profound spirituality and unlocking the door to world-class education and opportunity.”
