Drury University students who want to study nursing will have extra financial help.
In mid-December, the Jeannette L. Musgrave Foundation, administered through the Community Foundation of the Ozarks, awarded the institution a $30,000 grant.
The funds will support nursing scholarships and advance health care education.
“This grant will help fund scholarships for students pursuing careers in nursing, addressing a critical need for skilled healthcare professionals, not just in Springfield, but in southwest Missouri,” said Drury Provost Beth Harville, in a news release Thursday. “The Musgrave Foundation and CFO’s support is instrumental in expanding educational access and preparing our students to make a meaningful impact in our community’s healthcare system.”
The university recently expanded its health sciences offerings by developing a physician assistant program and adding a Master of Health Administration degree.

“This funding not only supports nursing education but also reinforces Drury’s broader efforts to address healthcare workforce shortages in our region,” Harville added. “We are grateful to the Musgrave Foundation for investing in the future of healthcare and for supporting students who will go on to serve and improve wellness in our community.”
