Dudley DeBosier launches $8,444 scholarship program with video contest discouraging distracted driving – WAFB

BATON ROUGE, La. (WAFB) – A popular Louisiana law firm has launched a scholarship for Louisiana students in the hopes of combating distracted driving through student creativity.
Dudley DeBosier Injury Lawyers announced the creation of its “For the Future” scholarship program which will award $8,444 in total prizes to students in the state who can create “compelling video content advocating against texting and driving.” Additionally, selected videos will be featured across digital billboards, television stations, and social media platforms throughout Louisiana.
“We see Louisiana’s youth as the next generation of changemakers,” said Chad Dudley, Managing Partner at Dudley DeBosier Injury Lawyers. “This scholarship empowers them to use their creativity and passion to address one of the most pressing safety issues facing their peers.”
According to a news release, the program invites Louisiana high school seniors and college students to submit original 1-2 minute videos that creatively discourage distracted driving among young people. Students are allowed to use any format including documentary, spoken word, animation, skits, interviews, or music to deliver their message.
Four award categories are offered in the scholarship:
Applications are now open through December 31, 2025, and winners will be announced in March 2026. Applications are open to Louisiana residents age 17 and older who maintain a minimum 2.5 GPA and are enrolled in or accepted to accredited higher education institutions.
