E.C. Glass High School senior Lindley Crosby received the 2025 LCS Excellence in Science Scholarship.
The scholarship recognizes the division’s top senior science student and a student who has a strong science or engineering vision for their future. The $16,000 scholarship started in 2013 and is sponsored by Charlie and Mary Jane Pryor, BWX Technologies and Sharon Ainslie, the LCS website said.
“It’s such an honor to receive this scholarship,” Crosby said. “I want to thank the Pryor family and BWXT, as well as all of my teachers for allowing me and other students to go above and beyond in the field of science.”
Crosby, who also attends Central Virginia Governor’s School of Science and Technology, was the Grand Award Finalist in Biological Sciences at the 2024 Virginia State Science & Engineering Fair, which allowed her to represent Central Virginia at the Regeneron International Science and Engineering Fair in Los Angeles.
Crosby plans to study environmental science at George Mason University and then join the U.S. Coast Guard as an officer to scientists in the response sector, focusing on humanitarian and environmental crises.
