RENO, Nev. (KOLO) – 39 North is offering an exciting opportunity for local high school students. Juniors and Seniors in high school can win the 39 North $1,000 College Scholarship.
This new scholarship program allows students to earn entries into a random drawing based on volunteer hours contributed to the 39 North Pole Village event.
President of 39 North Angela Handler says this is a great opportunity for students to be a part of the community. “It takes a village to create this village and it’s all volunteer so we ask everyone to come out.”
How It Works:
Students in their junior or senior year of high school can participate by volunteering at least one hour at the 39 North Pole Village. Each hour of service earns an entry into the scholarship drawing. There are additional chances to earn entries by participating in the Griswold Challenge, a free light-decorating contest.

Family Participation Bonus:
To foster community spirit and family involvement, parents can volunteer alongside their students. Each hour volunteered by a parent, sibling, aunt, uncle and more earns additional entries for their student, increasing their chances of winning the $1,000 scholarship.
How to Get Involved:
Students and parents can sign up to volunteer at www.39northdowntown.com or on SignUpGenius. Volunteer hours not only contribute to a great cause but also offer a chance to win funds for tuition, fees, and other educational expenses.
