The Ray Goodgame Scholarship celebrates exceptional students in the South Lake area who exemplify leadership, academic excellence, and a dedication to community service. Today, the South Lake Chamber of Commerce proudly recognized one such remarkable student—
Sara has consistently demonstrated a passion for academic success, maintaining an outstanding GPA of 4.58. Her unwavering commitment to excellence has earned her numerous academic accolades, including Summa Cum Laude honors, the “Maintained High GPA” award, and recognition as Student of the Month. She has excelled in rigorous coursework, completing both AP Spanish and AP Seminar, and was honored with the prestigious Future Leader Award at the Congress of Future Medical Leaders.
In addition to her academic achievements, Sara has emerged as a dynamic leader in her school community. She is an active member of the National Honor Society, Treasurer of the Science National Honor Society, and Secretary of the Dream Catchers Club. Beyond academics, she has displayed extraordinary leadership in athletics as the Captain of the Varsity Girls Tennis Team. Under her guidance, the team secured an impressive 4th place finish in districts, and her individual talent has earned her the “Most Valuable Player” award for three consecutive years.
Sara’s impact reaches well beyond the classroom and the tennis court. She has dedicated countless hours to serving her community, offering tennis lessons at Cypress Elementary, tutoring students in math, science, and English, and mentoring young individuals as a Kids’ Church Leader and youth program volunteer. Her commitment to service is further evidenced by six months of volunteer work at a local food pantry, demonstrating her deep-rooted passion for making a difference.
Looking to the future, Sara aspires to pursue a career in dentistry. She plans to attend Palm Beach Atlantic University, where she will major in Biology-Pre Health, before continuing her education at NYU’s dental school. Her determination, hard work, and dedication to serving others make her an inspiring role model for students throughout South Lake.
Congratulations to Sara Majin on receiving the $1,000 Ray Goodgame Outstanding Student Leader Scholarship. Her achievements and contributions to her community truly embody the spirit of this distinguished award.
