BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – The Eastern Florida State College Foundation recently announced receipt of a $25,000 donation for the creation of the Spirit of Geeta Shah Scholarship. It will benefit deserving students in the EFSC Public Safety and Health Sciences programs.
The check was presented to Victoria Jones, Interim Executive Director of the Foundation, by Dr. and Mrs. Ravindran B. Palaniyandi.
“We are extremely grateful to Dr. and Mrs. Palaniyandi for their generosity,” said Jones. “It will be used to create a scholarship that will make a difference in the lives of many students in the coming years.”
The scholarship was created by the Palaniyandis in memory of Geeta Ashokbhai Shah, a beloved wife, mother, and community member who passed away in April of this year.
Mrs. Shah was born in Vadodara, India. She moved to the United States after marrying Dr. Ashok Shah and made Titusville their home in 1995. Known for her warmth, humor, and generous spirit, she touched countless lives with her love of family and through her community involvement.
“Geeta was a truly wonderful person – caring, generous, and full of life,” said Dr. Palaniyandi.
“Losing her is a great loss to the community she gave so much to. This scholarship celebrates the joy she brought to others and the lasting impact of her kindness.”
