CHARLESTON, Ill. (WICS) — Eastern Illinois University's Lumpkin College of Business and Technology has been awarded a $25,000 scholarship grant from the Earthrise Energy RISE Grant Program. The funds will be used to provide scholarships to students pursuing academic and career goals that aim to strengthen the local community and regional workforce.
The Earthrise Energy RISE Grant Program partners with local non-profit organizations to support initiatives that improve the lives of local residents. The program focuses on teaching, entrepreneurship, and advancing STEM education, aligning with the priorities of Lumpkin College and Eastern Illinois University's broader mission.
"We greatly appreciate this gift from Earthrise Energy," said Dr. Austin Cheney, Professor and Dean of Lumpkin College. "With the new student scholarship grant, we can provide financial assistance to students in need of additional support to begin their educational journey in Lumpkin College here at EIU."
