Only five students statewide were selected for these scholarships. 
(Dearborn County, Ind.) – Two East Central High School graduates were the recipient of scholarships presented by the Association of Indiana Counties (AIC) and sponsored by Nationwide Retirement Solutions and SRI, Inc.
Bree Cleary is the recipient of a $1,000 Scholarship from AIC and Nationwide Retirement Solutions. Carson Pieczonka received a $500 scholarship from AIC and SRI, Inc. AIC’s David Bottorff and SRI, Inc’s Zach Hughes were on hand to present the scholarship checks during a Dearborn County Commissioners’ Meeting.
Bree Cleary is the daughter of Jon and Tracy Cleary. Jon Cleary is the Dearborn County Superior Court No. 1 Judge. Cleary is attending Indiana State University in the fall.
Carson Pieczonka is the son of Carl and Suzanne Pieczonka. Carl Pieczonka is a Chief Deputy with the Dearborn County Sheriff’s Department. Pieczonka plans on attending Thomas More University to study Finance.
Four students from across the state were awarded $500 scholarships and one received the $1,000 scholarship. Scholarship recipients are spring 2025 graduates from Indiana high schools who planned to attend a school of higher education in Indiana in the fall of 2025. Eligibility required applicants to be an employee of or the custodial child of an Indiana county employee of an AIC affiliate office.
The recipients will be announced at the AIC’s Annual Conference in September and at a county commissioner’s meeting in each winner’s home county. 
This comes in light of Texas' redistricting fight.
The art show is running now through August 16.
