AHOSKIE – The ECU Health Roanoke-Chowan Hospital Medical Staff Scholarship Committee recently awarded their annual scholarship to a local student.
This year’s recipient is Alexis Vann. Alexis is a 2024 graduate of Hertford County Early College High School and is currently working to obtain an Associate Degree in Science and Associate Degree in Arts from Roanoke-Chowan Community College.
Vann plans to attend Roanoke Chowan Community College/East Carolina University aRIBN nursing program with the ultimate goal of becoming a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA).
“Congratulations to the deserving student who was selected to receive the 10th annual medical staff scholarship this year,” said Dr. David Lingle, Chief of Staff at ECU Health Roanoke-Chowan Hospital. “Our scholarship program was established to recognize outstanding students who are accomplished academically and wish to pursue a career in the medical field.”
The scholarship was established in 2016 by the hospital medical staff under the direction of Dr. Lingle and Dr. Madhu Parmar and is funded by the medical staff.
