The Education Foundation of Osceola County honored the achievements of graduating seniors at its Annual Scholarship Awards Ceremony Wednesday night at Osceola Heritage Park. The event, which was presented by Orlando Health, celebrated not just academic excellence, but the spirit of perseverance, service, and hope that defines the next generation of leaders in Osceola County.
This year, the Foundation awarded an incredible 582 scholarships to deserving students, bringing the total value of scholarships awarded since its inception to over $12 million.
Founded in 1985 by Tom Tompkins, the Foundation’s original goal was to guarantee first-year college tuition for every graduating senior in Osceola County. Now, 40 years later, the Foundation continues to fulfill that promise—and more—by delivering innovative programs that empower students, support educators, and build a stronger community.
As a milestone tribute, , the Foundation introduced the “40 for 40 Scholarship” in celebration of its 40th anniversary. Forty students were selected for this special honor based on their outstanding academic performance and commitment to community service.
“This celebration is about more than financial awards,” said Kerry Avery, Executive Director of the Education Foundation. “It’s about investing in the next generation of leaders. What better way to celebrate our 40th anniversary than by honoring the goal that started it all—investing in scholarships that create opportunities and transform lives. These students are the future of our community, and we’re honored to support their journey.”
Special thanks to Orlando Health, this year’s Presenting Sponsor, for their dedication to advancing education in the community.
