LOUISVILLE − St. Thomas Aquinas High School has appointed Kevin T. Irvine as head principal.
Born and raised in New Mexico, Irvine has spent his professional career working in the United States, Asia, Mexico, Indonesia and Canada, according to a news release.
Irvine holds a master of arts degree in education with majors in curriculum and instruction, and minors in American government and politics. His experience includes hiring, training, professional development, and curriculum. He has contributed to the field as co-author of several educational pieces, including “All Systems Go,” a guide for new and pre-system teachers.
Irvine previously coached basketball at St. Thomas Aquinas for six years and has been a familiar face at Bingo Sundays, the annual auction, and the chili cook-off.
CANTON − Malone University has a new partnership with Habitat for Humanity East Central Ohio, a nonprofit Christian housing ministry committed to building safe, affordable homes for low- to moderate-income families and individuals.
The Learn & Earn partnership will prepare young professionals for careers that make a lasting impact in the lives of people in their communities. Students who participate will better understand Christ-centered stewardship in active ministry in Canton and beyond, according to a news release.
Since 1988, Habitat for Humanity East Central Ohio has partnered with more than 670 families to build and renovate safe, affordable homes across the region, empowering families through education, sweat equity investment, and the opportunity to purchase their homes through an affordable, 0% interest mortgage.
“At Habitat for Humanity East Central Ohio, we’re proud to partner with Malone University through the Learn and Earn program,” said Beth Lechner, CEO of Habitat for Humanity East Central Ohio. “This impactful collaboration gives students real-world experience in nonprofit ministry while making a lasting difference.”

CANTON − The Canton Lincoln High School Alumni Association recently honored scholarship winners at an awards reception. Area scholarship winners were recent high school graduates, as well as current college students.
