JACKSON TWP. – Stark State College is accepting applications for its 2025-26 Choose Ohio First scholarship program. The state recently awarded Stark State $556,600 to fund the scholarship, the second-highest award the college has received in its six years of participation.
The scholarship is designed to strengthen Ohio’s competitiveness within STEMM disciplines and STEMM education. Scholarship awards are provided to qualifying students in more than 70 approved programs such as mechanical engineering technology, concept-based nursing, HVACR technology, cyber security and computer forensics technology, industrial maintenance and emergency medical services. The total amount awarded annually is limited according to Choose Ohio First guidelines.

MASSILLON – Massillon Rotary Foundation is accepting applications until April 30 for nursing scholarships for 2025. The amount of the scholarship has yet to be determined.
Eligible applicants must live or work in Massillon or western Stark County and be accepted or enrolled in an accredited nursing program. Scholarships are eligible to be renewed annually.

NORTH CANTON – Stark State College invites students, parents and adults looking for a new career to attend its upcoming spring open houses. The events will be 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday on the main campus at 6200 Frank Ave. NW in Jackson Township, and April 9 at Stark State College Akron, 360 Perkins St.
Guests will learn about the admissions process, talk with faculty and staff about the college’s associate degrees and certificates, learn about student services and resources and take a tour.
Financial aid staff will be on hand to help students and parents submit FAFSA applications and discuss scholarship opportunities. Stark State has more than $3 million in scholarships to award incoming students based on criteria and applicant eligibility. High school seniors are invited to an informational session prior to the events at 4:30 p.m. to learn more.

CANTON − Aultman College is opening its doors for a Preview Day, an open house for interested students at 6 p.m. April 9.
The event includes tours of college facilities and classrooms, the opportunity to meet with students, faculty and staff, and presentations about programs such as nursing, radiography, medical assisting and the health sciences, as well as College Credit Plus for high school students.

Ohio Farm Bureau’s signature ag literacy and workforce development program, ExploreAg, will be offering free weeklong camps and one-day experiences for high school students.
In ExploreAg, teens learn about agriculture and related STEM fields from industry experts, scientists and educators. Students also are introduced to various aspects of agriculture, food science and environmental sciences, both in the classroom and through opportunities for hands-on learning.
In addition to classroom experience, students will participate in field experiences that highlight cutting-edge research and meet industry partners in related fields.
ExploreAg is free to all high school students and includes on-campus accommodations, meals, staffing, program materials and transportation. Supervision is provided at all times by faculty, staff and counselors who are current college students in related majors.

COLUMBUS – The Ohio Forestry Association Foundation is accepting applications for its annual E.B. Miller Memorial Scholarship until April 15. This scholarship is offered to Ohio high school graduates pursuing an education at an approved university, college, junior college, or technical university offering a forest resource curriculum.
The Scholarship Committee of the Ohio Forestry Association Foundation will select recipients, and winners will be announced in June.
