Members of the Sallie McCaskill Memorial Scholarship Fund have announced their scholarship winners for 2025-2026. With these eight students selected, the total scholarships given to Oak Ridge High School graduating seniors amounts comes to 239.
The fund was established in 1993 to honor a long-time resident, Sallie McCaskill of Oak Ridge, who worked very hard to secure educational opportunities for children and adults in the Scarboro community, according to a news release.
The fund is supported exclusively by donations from individuals, families, churches and corporations. The award is for the first year of college/university enrollment.
This year’s awardees are listed:
“These young people are articulate, engaging and focused on what they want to accomplish in life. We think that they will do well,” fund members stated in the release.
