Eleven 2025 Stark County high school graduates have received scholarships from the Ohio High School Athletic Association as part of the association’s scholar-athlete program.
Alliance’s Avery Horning, GlenOak’s Ryan Bridenthal and Sydney Harbour, Hoover’s Logan Ash, Jackson’s Kaylee Lusk and Sean McNulty, Marlington’s Jacsyn Hilliard and Luke Ryan, Northwest’s Kendall Lower and Perry’s Chloe Dostal are among the scholarship winners from the Northeast District. Minerva’s Ryan Cassidy was selected from the East District.
The OHSAA is awarding $200,000 in scholarships to 200 student-athletes representing the six districts around the state.
“These scholar-athletes represent the very best of high school athletics,” OHSAA Executive Director Doug Ute said. “Our district athletic boards, board of directors and OHSAA staff congratulate them on all their accomplishments and wish them well as they work toward their educational and career goals.”
The OHSAA is also sending $1,250 to each member school, a grand total of $1,020,000, to assist with items needed by each school’s athletic department. The money comes from the OHSAA Athletic Enrichment Fund, which assists with costs of equipment, uniforms, game transportation, officials, and improving student sportsmanship and adult fan behavior.
