Eleven North Carolina students honored for Marine scholarships in DC – WITN

WASHINGTON, D.C. (WITN) – Eleven North Carolina students were honored in a scholarship awards ceremony for Marine families.
The Marine Corps Scholarship Foundation held its scholarship ceremony for the 2025-2026 recipients this week. Eleven of the students present were from North Carolina Marine families.
According to the news release, the foundation awarded nearly $12,098,500 in scholarships for these students pursuing universities, community colleges, or trades schools. It says they awarded 2,886 scholarships during the ceremony.
“Each scholarship we award reflects our commitment to the Marine Corps community and to the future of the next generation,” said Ted Probert, president and CEO of the Marine Corps Scholarship Foundation. “As we recognize the 250th anniversary of the Marine Corps this year, it is especially meaningful to stand alongside these remarkable students and their families. Their stories of resilience, leadership, and service remind us why this mission matters.”
The foundation held the ceremony at Marine Barracks Washington in celebration of the barracks’ 250th birthday.
