Elite Scholars Academy senior Lauryn Palmer was recently awarded the Cooperative Developmental Energy Program Scholarship from Fort Valley State University.
Palmer, who will begin her college journey this summer at FVSU, was selected after securing a total of 72 scholarships.
The CDEP Scholarship offers a full academic award that covers tuition, fees, room, board and a book stipend.
Georgia students like Palmer benefit from HOPE, covering tuition costs, while CDEP provides support for all other expenses.
Over three years, students pursue their bachelor’s degrees at FVSU before transferring to a partner institution to complete their master’s and doctoral studies, creating a seamless and financially supported pathway to advanced education.
To be eligible for the CDEP Scholarship, students must meet rigorous criteria, including:
— A minimum 3.5 GPA.
— Submission of an official high school transcript.
— Two recommendation letters.
— A minimum SAT score of 1170 (with at least 570 in math) or an ACT composite score of 26.
Fort Valley’s CDEP program is designed to support students from under-represented communities in pursuing careers in energy, engineering, environmental science, technology and other STEM fields.
