The Elsmere City Council awarded two outstanding local high school graduates with the 2025 student scholarships at their June 10 meeting.

Addison Landers from Dixie Heights High School and Anna Donahue from Lloyd Memorial High School were the first students to receive the new $3,000 scholarship after the council voted to raise the amount this year.
The scholarship recognized their excellent academic performance, extracurricular accomplishments and community engagement. In addition to the monetary award, each student received a clock engraved with their name.
Separately, the council approved the budget for the new fiscal year, beginning July 2025 and ending June 2026, with a total of $15.8 million in available resources and $4.5 million on the city’s balance.
Following Serena Owen’s resignation from the council on June 4, Elsmere has 30 days to fill the vacant seat. The city will advertise the position to potential applicants from June 11 through June 16. Selections will be held following 15-to 20-minute interviews, to be determined at a later date.
