Rotary Club of Emmett presented checks to many local youth organizations during a gathering at Blaser Park on Wednesday, May 21.
The Rotary Club of Emmett awarded $15,000 in scholarships to local high school seniors and distributed $48,750 to 25 youth and community groups during an event held Thursday evening at Blaser Park. The funding was made possible through proceeds from the Flip Flops and Flamingos Youth Benefit Dinner & Auction and community donations.
Foundation President and Scholarship Chairman, Marilyn Knighton, reports those receiving Rotary Foundation Scholarships are:
Emma Burr — $5000
Amina Smajic — $3000
Annastyn Kunka — $3000
Jeni Hammon — $1000
Brady Low — $1000
Rachel Winegar — $1000
Alongside the scholarships, 25 local youth and community groups received an additional total of $48,750. This year’s recipients include:
4-H — Gem/Boise 4-H Exchange Club / U of I Extension Gem County
4-H — Gem/Boise 4-H Leaders Association
4-H — Gem/Boise Youth Livestock Sale (Fair)
