JACKSON, Miss. (VDN) — Entergy Mississippi has introduced the Power Your Future Scholarship program, aimed at supporting undergraduate students pursuing technology-related majors at select Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs) and minority-serving institutions in Mississippi.
The program will award up to 20 scholarships of $5,000 each, funded by Entergy shareholders. Scholarship America®, a national nonprofit that manages scholarship programs, will administer the initiative.
The scholarship is part of Entergy Corporation’s broader Power of Prosperity initiative, a $20 million, 10-year commitment to advancing education, career readiness and workforce development at HBCUs across Entergy’s service areas in Mississippi, Arkansas, Louisiana and Texas.
“Entergy Mississippi is thrilled to offer the Power Your Future Scholarship as a means to empower the next generation of technology leaders,” said Haley Fisackerly, Entergy Mississippi president and CEO. “By supporting students in their pursuit of higher education at HBCUs and minority-serving institutions, we are investing in an innovative future for our communities in Mississippi.”
Applications are open through April 9. Interested students must submit required materials as outlined by Scholarship America.
