Enterprise High soccer players Lincoln Lascano and Taylor Waters each signed college scholarships on Monday.
Enterprise boys and girls soccer coach Bruce Ladner says Lincoln Lascano and Taylor Waters aren’t just super soccer players, they’re also extremely tough ones.
“Taylor is about as tough of a player as I’ve ever been around,” Ladner said. “When she’s hurt, she’s injured, she’s banged up … she doesn’t slow down.
“As a matter of fact, I have to beg her not to practice so hard. She just keeps going and going. If there was ever a kid who had the personality to be a goalkeeper, it’s her.”
And as for Lascano.
“He’s a tough kid, too,” Ladner said. “He takes a beating every game. Other teams know they have to stop him if they want to stop us, so he gets a lot of attention – he gets double-teamed a lot and fouled a lot. But he just gets up and keeps going.”
Lincoln Lascano of Enterprise signed with Enterprise State on Monday for soccer.
Lascano, a senior midfielder for the Wildcats, and Waters, a senior goalkeeper for the Lady Wildcats, each signed college scholarships on Monday.
Lascano will stay at home to continue his career at Enterprise State Community College, while Waters will play at Faulkner University in Montgomery.
Lascano is the first Enterprise High product to sign for soccer at Enterprise State, which is transitioning from a club sport to a sanctioned sport on the junior college level this coming fall. ESCC is coached by a former Enterprise High standout, Cade Stinnett.
“It’s a good fit for me because I just want to stay home and be close to my family,” Lascano said.

Lascano said he started playing soccer when he was 3 and started taking the sport seriously when he reached middle school.
Besides learning at the high school level, Lascano has played for his father on the club level with Enterprise Select Soccer Club.
“He’s the one that got me started playing soccer and he’s coached me for so many years,” Lascano said.
He credits his father and whole family for helping him achieve the goal of signing, along with coaches and the support of teammates and friends.

“It feels good to have all my friends and family come and support me,” Lascano said of the signing ceremony.
Ladner believes Lascano is a natural on the field.
“Lincoln is just a soccer player,” Ladner said. “He’s one of these kids if you look at him, so say, ‘He’s not overly strong, he’s not overly fast.’ But boy, you put a soccer ball at his foot and he’s faster. You put a soccer ball at his foot and he’s stronger.”
Taylor Waters of Enterprise signed with Faulkner University on Monday for soccer.
Waters began playing goalkeeper at a young age and has always enjoyed the position.
“I started playing goalkeeper when I was in fourth grade,” Waters said. “I’ve always just liked it. My mom was a goalkeeper, so it was always in my blood.”
She likes the leadership role she has on the field.

“I command the team very well … I’m always talking … very loud,” she said.
When Waters visited Faulkner, she felt a good vibe.
“Everyone was super welcoming and super nice,” Waters said. “I met all of the players on the team and coaching staff and it was just a really good environment.”
There will also be a familiar face joining her there.

“I do know a Dothan player (Taylor Daniel, current Dothan High senior) that will be playing up there and we’re going to plan on rooming together,” Waters said. “We’ve played together through travel ball.”
Waters said a former semi-pro soccer player, Randy Morris of Enterprise, is someone who has been instrumental in helping her progress as a goalie.
“He helped me learn how to dive and helped me gain my confidence and catch balls better and things like that,” Waters said.
Ladner believes Waters will progress well on the college level.
“As she gets to college and gets more time to train, she will thrive in that,” Ladner said. “She wants to get better, so she’ll probably move onward and upward.”
