HUDSONVILLE, MI (WHTC-AM/FM, Mar. 12, 2025) – A Holland-based construction firm is honoring a long-time industry leader by establishing a legacy.
On Tuesday, EV Construction announced the creation of the Tony Roussey Building Futures Scholarship program at the West Michigan Construction Institute. It’s to commemorate a founding board member of the institute who has been a fixture in the local industry for over 57 years. Roussey, the Chief Operating Officer of EV, and its one-time Safety Director, has led the company to three Contractor of the Year awards through the American Subcontractors Association of Michigan, along with other and numerous accolades. He is planning to retire at the end of 2025.
The scholarship will establish an initial $100,000 contribution into an endowment fund at WCMI that will support individuals pursuing construction careers, providing a platform for other companies and trade partners to make similar contributions.
“This scholarship fund is an incredible honor. Everything I’ve done throughout my career has been about the people—the workers, the leaders, and the community we build together. Knowing this fund will help future generations of tradespeople is truly meaningful to me.” – Tony Roussey
The announcement came during EV’s 10th annual Safety Symposium at the Pinnacle Center in Hudsonville.
