ASHLAND, Ore. – Ashland Community Health Foundation (ACHF) is making a significant impact on nursing education in the Rogue Valley. They announced over $210,000 in scholarships from the William G. and Ruth T. Evans Endowed Nursing Scholarship for 2025.
According to ACHF, the scholarship, established in 2002 by Ruth Evans, has awarded more than $1.7 million over 23 years. This year, $198,500 was allocated to 14 students at Oregon Health and Science University and Rogue Community College.
Additionally, more than $12,000 will assist 24 students from Rogue Community College’s licensed Practical Nursing Program with licensing and exam fees.
“With nursing graduates often entering the workforce carrying significant education debt, the Evans Nursing Scholarship continues to reduce financial barriers while addressing the need for qualified nurses in our community,” said Stephanie Roland, ACHF executive director.
The scholarship recipients will be honored at the foundation’s upcoming awards luncheon, celebrating their commitment to improving health care quality in the region.
