Calling all exceptional high school students across Duval! The deadline to apply for the prestigious Farah & Farah Empowering Greatness Scholarship is fast approaching. This scholarship, valued at a staggering $50,000, is one of the most generous scholarships available nationwide for the 2025 academic year.

Scholarship Details and How to Apply
This scholarship is a collaborative effort between Farah & Farah, Big Brothers Big Sisters Association of Florida, and the Florida Prepaid College Foundation. It recognizes five outstanding high school students with a two-year college scholarship.
To qualify, students must be currently enrolled in a public or charter high school in Florida, demonstrate a strong commitment to their communities and academics, and meet additional eligibility criteria. Scholarship recipients will be announced in May.

The partnership with Big Brothers Big Sisters underscores the importance of mentorship in a young person’s life. Farah & Farah hopes to empower these young people further to achieve their dreams by providing financial support for higher education.
Scholarship Benefits
Scholarship winners receive a Florida Prepaid College Foundation 2-Year College Plan that covers tuition and most fees for 60 credit hours at any Florida public college. The plan value can also be applied to universities or trade schools within the state.
Selection Process
A scholarship committee meticulously assesses submitted applications using a comprehensive framework. The top 10% of applicants advance to a final round judged by a distinguished panel, including community leaders, professionals, and past scholarship recipients.
How to Apply
Students can submit their applications through the Big Brothers Big Sisters Association of Florida online application portal, which opened on December 16th. The deadline to apply is Friday, February 18th, 2025.
