Fleetio, a fleet optimization platform, has introduced the Fleetio Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) Scholarship Program. The technician scholarship program offers six scholarships to automotive technicians and students pursuing ASE certifications. It aims to nurture the next generation of fleet maintenance professionals. The announcement took place at TMC’s Annual Meeting and Transportation Technology Exposition in Nashville.
Fleet service organizations experience a 30-40% annual turnover rate, leading to concerns about retaining skilled technicians. Fleetio has initiated the ASE Scholarship Program to provide financial support for training, upskilling, and reskilling future maintenance technicians.
“For years, the fleet industry has faced challenges in attracting and maintaining qualified maintenance technicians, often recruiting from other industries and countries,” said Belinda Rueffer, Vice President of Marketing at Fleetio. “The Fleetio ASE Scholarship Program offers our customers the chance to nominate deserving candidates for essential training and certification.”
The selection committee will assess nominations based on candidates’ commitment to advancing their careers in automotive repair. The program awards one grand prize scholarship of $3,000 to cover registration and testing fees for three ASE Professional-level Certification tests and tool upgrades. Five runner-up recipients receive $1,000 each to aid with certification testing costs, tools, or other supplies.

Active Fleetio customers can nominate an automotive technician or student pursuing ASE certification through the Professional-level Certification tests or an ASE Accredited Training Program. Nominations for the Fleetio ASE Scholarship Program are open from March 31, 2025, to May 1, 2025.
