The Folsom Athletic Association (FAA) has once again demonstrated its commitment to supporting local students by awarding a total of $22,000 in scholarships to deserving high school seniors this year. Among the recipients are standout individuals from various high schools in the area, each recognized for their exceptional achievements and contributions.
This year, the FAA introduced a new scholarship, the Ken Grossfeld Memorial Scholarship, aimed at honoring the legacy of Ken Grossfeld. Grossfeld, a beloved figure in the Folsom community, was known for his dedication to youth development through sports, music, art, and community service. His passion for little league baseball and his desire to make a positive impact on Folsom’s youth inspired the creation of this scholarship before his passing in 2011.
Winning the inaugural $1,500 Ken Grossfeld Memorial Scholarship from Folsom High School is Collin Elmore, who will be attending Winona State University. Similarly, Camden King from Vista del Lago High School is awarded the scholarship, with his college decision pending.
In addition to the Ken Grossfeld Memorial Scholarship, several other scholarships were awarded to outstanding students across the Folsom area.
