The Wapakoneta Area Community Foundation has announced its schedule for scholarship applications. The process will open on Wednesday, January 1 and close on Friday, March 7. Students interested in completing an application can do it via the Foundation’s website at www.wapakacf.org. “The process is simple”, explained Greg Myers, Executive Director of the Foundation. “Students fill out a single online application and it enables them to be considered for all of the Foundation’s 47 scholarship funds.”
This year the Foundation awarded 178 scholarships totaling $301,500. It will also be implementing two new scholarships in 2025. The Sean T. Bailey Memorial Scholarship was created by family and friends. A $1,000 scholarship will be awarded to a WHS Senior seeking a degree in the various Earth Science fields.
Multiple scholarships will also be awarded from the Jonathan T. Sweger Scholarship Fund. Mr. Sweger left his entire estate to the Foundation to create his scholarship fund.
The scholarships are open to graduating seniors in any of the Auglaize County school districts. More detailed information about these new scholarships is available on the Foundation’s Facebook page.
