TRAVERSE CITY, Mich. — More than 200 students from Northern Michigan are set to receive scholarships after the Grand Traverse Regional Community Foundation awarded 277 scholarships totaling over half a million dollars.
The Community Foundation said the scholarships were granted to 223 students, including high school seniors, college students, and trade school students.
As part of this year's scholarship awards, the Community Foundation distributed approximately $77,000 to 24 students from Antrim County, more than $173,000 to 38 students from Benzie County, and nearly $215,000 to 139 students from Grand Traverse County.
Additionally, about $17,000 was awarded to six students from Kalkaska County, more than $13,000 to eight students from Leelanau County, and more than $13,000 to eight students from outside the region through partnerships.
