Halley Haack, center, chair of the Coldwell Banker Schmitt Charitable Foundation, presents a check to establish the AJ Hally Marine Scholarship to Lana Gaspari, CFK vice president of advancement and CFK Foundation executive director, and Jonathan Gueverra, CFK president.
The College of the Florida Keys (CFK) Foundation received $32,500 from the Coldwell Banker Schmitt Charitable Foundation to establish a scholarship in memory of Arcenio John “AJ” Hally.
The scholarship supports students who, like Hally, demonstrate a deep appreciation for the ocean, a commitment to environmental stewardship and a drive to make a meaningful impact in their communities. By endowing the scholarship, a portion of the donation is invested, and its earnings will provide scholarship awards to students in perpetuity.
The AJ Hally Marine Scholarship is available to students who are pursuing degrees and certificates within the college’s Division of Marine Sciences and Technology, including marine science, marine engineering, diving and engineering technology.
For more information about donating to the CFK Foundation to benefit CFK students and programs, contact Lana Gaspari, CFK vice president of advancement and CFK Foundation executive director, at 305-809-3214 or foundation@cfk.edu.
Additional information about scholarship opportunities and resources to help students pay for college, such as federal aid and tuition payment plans, can be found on CFK’s website at cfk.edu/paying-for-college.
