The Henry County Soil and Water Conservation District recently awarded four $1,000 scholarships to Henry County students who plan to major in and pursue a career in an agriculture or natural resources related field.
The Charles W. “Dickie” Brewer Memorial Scholarship was awarded to Brevin Hutson. Hutson is a student at the University of Tennessee at Martin where he is pursuing a degree in veterinary science and technology.
The Henry County SWCD scholarships were awarded to three Henry County High School seniors who just graduated this year. They are:
• Abbey Watkins, who plans to attend UT Martin this fall and major in agribusiness.
• Remi Gardner, who is going to attend Redlands Community College in El Reno, Okla. She plans to major in agriculture communications.
• Blaire Lamon, who will be attending UT Martin this fall and will major in veterinary science.
