SMITHFIELD – Navigant Credit Union has announced the 2025 recipients of its annual scholarship program and four students attending northern Rhode Island schools are among the 19 statewide recipients.
Alyson Dingena Smith and Sophia Parente from North Smithfield High School, Emma Vincent from Ponaganset High School and Jillian Russell from Burrillville High School were recognized for their exemplary academic achievement, teamwork and community involvement over the course of their high school careers.
“We are thrilled to support these talented and dedicated students as they continue their education” said Navigant Credit Union President/CEO Kathy Orovitz. “These students’ achievements and contributions to the communities in which they live are inspiring, and we look forward to seeing the positive impacts they will make in their future.”
The credit union notes that the awards are part of an ongoing dedication to investing in the future of Rhode Island’s community through education, now in its 28th year. The scholarship recipients were selected from a highly competitive pool of candidates, and each demonstrated academic achievement, extra-curricular activities, community involvement/work experience and financial need, according to a release on the funding.
